About us
From yesterday and today
The Hotel Engemann Kurve in Winterberg was opened in 1959 by Georg and Hildegard Engemann. The hotel owes its name "Kurve" to the hobby of its founder: Georg Engemann was a passionate bobsledder - at that time on the natural ice rink at the Winterberg Kappe. A particularly dangerous curve was often his undoing, which earned him the nickname "Kurven-Schorsch" and his hotel the nickname Kurve.
In the second generation, daughter Maria and her husband Lutz Gebhardt ran the hotel for many years. Together, they expanded and developed it into one of the leading hotels and restaurants in the region. In 2016, the two retired and sold it to us, the Respondek-Mandelke family.
About their decision and the associated trust we are happy every day anew. Because we like to be your hosts. You will feel this - in many details, in the ambience, in the atmosphere and in real culinary delights - on the plate as well as in the glass.
Experience wonderfully relaxed days and family hospitality with us. Enjoy contemporary hotel comfort, a small but fine wellness landscape, hotel rooms to feel good in modern design, a highly acclaimed cuisine and an activity offer that shows you the mountain world around Winterberg from the most beautiful side.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!
Anna Lena and Florian Mandelke / Andreas and Susanne Respondek and the entire Curves team.
